The Nevada Mining Association, founded in 1913 and given its current name in 1952, is dedicated to providing the facts on mining in the state. Can you give us a brief introduction to the organization?
We are a trade association that brands the operators, vendors and explorers in our sector together. Our primary function is to address any issue where there are mutual benefits, including safety, the environment, human resources, tax policy and implementation, public relations and government affairs. This last item is almost limited to Nevada politics, but every once in a while the association is drawn into federal issues.
